Pineo is pure, “wild” water, which rises in a continuous flow of about 25,000 liters per hour from the bottom of the mountain at an altitude of 1,100 meters. The water is bottled and filled on site. People in the Netherlands and Belgium get too much PFAS through food and drinking water, according to the RIVM and VMM, which can damage the immune system and cause cancer. However, removing PFAS from drinking water is very difficult.\u00a0To remove (most of) PFAS, you need very fine membrane filtration. That is an expensive technique that uses a lot of energy.
