In the spring of 2020, young Chlo\u00eb Goyvaerts cycled to work in a real estate office in Oostduinkerke. It was in the middle of Corona time and the moment to muse about what she actually loved most, what her dream was. A catering business of her own! While cycling on the Zeedijk, her eye fell on a building that was empty and for sale. Immediately Chl\u00f6e, who used to be often teasingly called Chlodette by her older sister, called her daddy Stef and said, “I saw an opportunity!” By the end of October 2020, the opening of family-run tapas bar Chlodette on the Zeedijk was a reality. With Stef as chef in the kitchen and Chlo\u00eb in service.<\/p>\n

Chlodettes’ great love for Southern cuisine<\/h2>\n

Our huge passion for Southern cuisine shows itself not only in our culinary preferences. For example, my parents have had a country home in Portugal for 15 years, daddy Stef has been importing Portuguese wines and delicacies for several years, and my boyfriend and I already spent several months in Madrid. Nevertheless, our menu has influences from all over the world. Everywhere we have already traveled we test out new hotspots, taste as much as we can and then try to bring back those typical flavors and incorporate them into our dishes.<\/p>\n

For Chlodette & Co. sitting together at the table with family or friends is a hobby. Their slogan is therefore: The best memories are made around the table! And what could be cozier than a table full of good food? Also outside, on the spacious and perhaps most beautiful terrace of the Zeedijk, it is great to relax, with a small playground on the beach for the kids.<\/p>\n

We passed this place and thought “this is the place to be” and we did not regret it for a second! Super nice atmosphere with 2 ladies who served us with great enthusiasm, we were lucky that it was their food & wine pairing weekend! 8 dishes to share each time with an appropriate wine, water and coffee included, a real top formula. Another nice twist: you could also order the wines offered for your home! In short: Chlodette is a place to keep an eye on and to visit again. – KathleenN465<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Which tapas are on the menu at Chlodette at the Zeedijk?<\/h2>\n

For example, you can find Loaded Fries, real American Streetfood or a Chinese preparation of slow-cooked duck on the menu. Other examples of typical Chlodette tapas are: Burrata & Pomodori, Greek Filorolls, Gambas a la Plancha or a Plank Secreto N\u00b07. For 2 people, about five dishes – to share – are ideal. Having a party at home or want to have a luxurious picnic? Then there is also a Take-away Tapasbox filled with a selection of fine meats (e.g. Paleta Iberico Cebo), special cheeses (e.g. farmer’s cheese aged in Roste Jeanne), delicacies (such as Crema di Lardo) and a bread assortment (nut bread, sourdough and ciabatta) for \u20ac70<\/p>\n
